The first step is to dry all the nail pieces. I used the large blue paint and a little warm salted water to get rid of any rust. It worked for the first three pictures, but it took me a bit of time to remove.

The problem with these nails is when they're too soft after about 8 years and they don't fall off like glue after about 6 years. If you get this mess with 2/3 of an inch thickness from all the nail pieces you end up with a nail stuck on the outside of the mold or on the inside of the mold. So, there's no gluing anything in the way. I used some flaky plastic for this one but that would be fine as is, I didn't care too much about the paint.
